Tips & Tools Weekly (Vol. 20, No. 28)

This Week's Software Tips

Adjust Hatch Origin
Have you ever placed a hatch in AutoCAD, only to discover it does not look like the pattern you selected? Years ago, you used to have to set the Snapbase system variable before creating the hatch object in order to adjust the hatch origin. Nowadays, it's as easy as described in this tip from Tina Stimpson. View the complete tip and post your feedback.

Determine Your Plot Scale
Ed Galicki offers this AutoCAD tip that describes his method for preliminary layout sizing. He includes a menu macro for a command he created to insert a block to help with scaling, which not only asks for the location of the representative drawing field, but also sets the dimscale, the layer, dimstyle, color, and more. View the complete tip and post your feedback.

Inventor Tip: Make Constraints Easy
This tip from Alex Kaplan explains how to copy constrained selected parts/assemblies to a new location in Autodesk Inventor, making your workflow faster. It also works between different model windows. View the complete tip and post your feedback.
