The series discusses the company's engineering solutions, including CATIA, ENOVIA, DELMIA, SIMULIA, and EXALEAD. FARO Launches AEC 3D Laser Scanning Website
FARO, a developer of laser scanning products, has launched a website explaining the impact of 3D laser scanning within the architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) industries. The FARO AEC site includes videos on step-by-step techniques; application descriptions; webinars; whitepapers and case studies; and plugin apps.

Autodesk Creates AEC Podcast Channel
Autodesk announced the launch of its AutodeskAEC podcast channel, which will include information from Autodesk executives, customers, partners, industry experts, students, and media on trends impacting AEC and civil infrastructure professionals. Topics include infrastructure and the current water crisis, the global boom in construction, and how advances in technology fit into the broader AEC landscape.

INVIEWlabs Offers Free Trial of UNIFI v1.6 BIM Content Manager
INVIEWlabs is offering a 14-day trial of its UNIFI v1.6 cloud-based building information modeling (BIM) content management platform. The software works with Autodesk Revit to help users search and find design assets, then place them into Revit project designs. UNIFI 1.6 is compatible with Autodesk Revit 2016.

E-on Software Announces Discounts of 20 to 50%
E-on Software is offering a 30% discount on licenses of the company's VUE, LumenRT, PlantFactory, Carbon Scatter or CloudFactory CG software, as well as 20% off upgrades. Additionally, the company is offering 50% off second and subsequent licenses for customers who buy two more products, including multiple seats of the same application. Offer expires July 12, 2015.

BOXX Temporarily Reduces Price of Its Overclocked Workstations
BOXX announced the company is offering a $350 discount on its overclocked APEXX workstation. The discount applies to all overclocked APEXX 2 and APEXX 4 workstations. Offer expires July 30, 2015.

Autodesk Launches Free Design Academy iTunes U Course
Autodesk announced the availability of the Autodesk Design Academy iTunes U course on Autodesk Fusion 360 and its use with the company's CAD, CAM, and CAE applications in the cloud. Autodesk also launched the Autodesk Design Academy multitouch book, which includes materials about Autodesk SketchBook Express software for digital art and concept sketching. Both the iTunes U course and the multitouch book are available from iTunes at no charge.

PLM: Octopart Search Engine
Octopart Search is an add-module to the Empower product lifecycle management (PLM) system from Omnify Software. According to the companies, users can check and create vendors, vendor parts, and associated items through a formal part request in Empower, while populating attributes/parameters, datasheets, and compliance documents directly from the data in Octopart.

AEC: Vabi Apps Plugins
Vabi Software announced the release of the company's Autodesk Revit plugins for use in early design stages. The company offers four apps for Revit: Financial Simulator for financial analysis; Spatial Requirements Assistant for monitoring functional requirements; Thermal Comfort Optimizer to set optimal indoor temperatures; and Daylight Ratio Evaluator to automatically monitor the building's daylight area ratio.

AEC: LFM NetView 4.0 and LFM Server 4.3
LFM Software released updated versions of its LFM NetView and LFM Server laser scanning project software. According to the company, both products include cloud-based integration and 3D markup functionality that allows users to add, access, and share asset intelligence in the form of tag identifiers, attributes, and comments as well as links to associated documents and information.
