This Week's Software Tips

Remove Persistent Plot Log Files in AutoCAD
Are you still getting PLOT.LOG files even after you unselect the option in the Plot tab? Nancy Eaton shares a tip about a second setting buried in several nested dialog boxes. "If you don't want any PLOT.LOG files, this is the tip for you." View the complete tip and post your feedback.

Use AutoCAD's PressPull Command for Tapered Objects
This tip from Jaiprakash Pandey explains how to use the PressPull command on tapered geometries so that the direction remains the same as the direction of the geometry. "A good example of how the Ctrl key can modify AutoCAD commands." View the complete tip and post your feedback.

Autodesk Vault Tip: E-mail Files
Do you have a file in Autodesk Vault that you want to send to someone? David Gaskill shows you a quick and easy way to send your latest file from Vault. View the complete tip and post your feedback.

April Tips from Hot Tip Harry

Hot Tip Harry, Cadalyst's mysterious purveyor of customized AutoCAD code, has dispatched another bundle of great LISP tips from readers. View and download each of the latest tips using the links below, or get the entire April 2015 Hot Tip Harry batch at once.

Draw Lamé Curves
CAD Tip No. 4456, from Kent Cooper, is a routine to create Lamé curves, otherwise known as superellipses. As he does frequently, Kent authored this routine as a response to an inquiry in the Autodesk customization forum. Thanks for introducing most of us to superellipes, Kent! View the complete tip and post your feedback.

Multiple Fillet Radius Values
In the spirit of similar tips, Kent Cooper presents a routine that lets you save and reuse multiple fillet radius values with the F0 through F9 commands. This routine handles as many as 10 remembered radius values, but more commands can easily be added if needed. View the complete tip and post your feedback.

Fillet Match Radius
Kent Cooper's third tip of the month allows you to select an existing curve to set the radius for an immediate fillet. Kent's version also handles polyline arc segments in addition to arcs and circles to set the desired radius. View the complete tip and post your feedback.

Fix for Fillet "Radius is Too Large"
If you've ever tried to use the Fillet command and received the message "Radius is too large," then this tip from Kent Cooper can help. This routine will report the maximum radius that will work in a given fillet situation as well as the current radius value assigned to the Fillet command. View the complete tip and post your feedback.
