Siemens PLM Software announced a free student download of Tecnomatix Jack human simulation and modeling software. The software, valid for 12 months, is intended only for academic coursework and self-learning and does not contain the full capabilities of Tecnomatix Jack.
Six-Month ZW3D License Free with Purchase of Another License
Until April 30, 2014, customers who purchase a software product license from CAD/CAM manufacturing solutions provider ZWSOFT can get a free 180-day license for any ZW3D product that is equal in value or less expensive than the purchased product. After the 180-day period ends, users can get a 50% discount on a permanent license for that product.
OTOY's OctaneRender Software Now Free to Students
Cloud graphics company OTOY is offering its 3D rendering software OctaneRender free for students. The software, used by artists, animators, and designers, is free to students who have a .edu e-mail address. Also free to students are OctaneRender plugins for Blender, Autodesk 3ds Max, and Autodesk Maya.
Kubotek USA Offering Free Trial of KeyCreator 2014 v12.5
Kubotek USA is offering a free trial of KeyCreator 2014 v12.5 direct modeling software. The recently released v12.5 includes CAD animation, a direct dimension editing tree, and a wire EDM option for 2- and 2.5-axis numerical control milling, among other new features.
Free Trial Versions of MicroSurvey Software Available
MicroSurvey is offering free trials of its newly released MicroSurvey inCAD 2014 and MicroSurvey embeddedCAD 2014. MicroSurvey inCAD 2014 is a plugin that adds the MicroSurvey feature set to the latest Autodesk software to offer a complete survey drafting toolkit. MicroSurvey embeddedCAD 2014 is a standalone application that is powered by Autodesk technology enhanced with MicroSurvey tools.

3D Systems Launches New 3D Printing Seminar Series
A new training series from 3D Systems (3DS) will consist of more than 300 events between March and June 2014 at 3DS reseller locations worldwide. Resellers will demonstrate many 3DS products, spanning industrial-grade to desktop 3D printers, printing materials, and scan-to-design and inspection tools for engineers and designers.
Updated Vectorworks Guide Published
Nemetschek Vectorworks has published a new training guide for users of Vectorworks software. Vectorworks Essentials Tutorial Manual, Sixth Edition ($75), written by trainer Jonathan Pickup, discusses the Vectorworks interface; tools and commands; 3D modeling; organizing information; and using worksheets.
GIS: Trimble InSphere
Trimble has introduced InSphere, a cloud-based platform for management of geospatial operations. InSphere clients will have access to multiple applications, including InSphere Data Manager, InSphere Equipment Manager, and TerraFlex to simplify field data collection.
