IronCAD Offers Free Trial of Updated Design Collaboration Suite
IronCAD is offering a free, 30-day trial of its recently updated IronCAD Design Collaboration Suite (DCS). Among the new features in IronCAD DCS 2015 are a simplified user experience, enhanced design capabilities, and new collaboration tools, the company reports. Interested parties can download IronCAD DCS 2015 from the IronCAD web site.

MPIC Adds FEA Capabilities to IronCAD DCS
MPIC (Multi-Physics for IronCAD) is an integrated CAD–finite element analysis (FEA) solution for design simulations, including static/steady state; dynamic/transient response; modal/vibration modes; instability buckling; and frequency domain testing. MPIC is included with IronCAD Design Collaboration Suite 2015 with full product capabilities for 30 days, then extends as a node-limited version with options to purchase full-accuracy levels, advance versions, and add-ons.

Autodesk Upgrade Pricing Available Till January 31
Software reseller CDW Canada reports that, for a limited time, an upgrade on Autodesk software can cost less than new seat of the same application by as much as 30%. Until January 31, 2015, users can upgrade a range of Autodesk products. Beginning February 1, 2015, Autodesk will no longer offer the option to purchase upgrades for noncurrent product versions.

Upgraded 3D CAD Models App Free for Download
CADENAS has added new features to The PARTcommunity 3D CAD models app. The app provides access to parts from more than 400 manufacturers' catalogs. With the new version, a desired part can be searched across all available catalogs, and a part that has been opened can be used as a search template. The PARTcommunity app is available from the CADENAS web site.

Presentation Submissions for PTC Live Global 2015 Due Today
PTC reminds would-be presenters that the deadline to submit presentation proposals for PTC Live Global, to be held June 7–10, 2015, in Nashville, Tennessee, is November 17, 2014. PTC Live Global is a networking and training event for product development professionals using PTC solutions. Special consideration will be given to submissions that address business issues such as cost, efficiency, quality, risk, collaboration, and innovation.

MCAD: ZW3D FastBlank Lite
ZW3D has announced FastBlank Lite, a module of ZW3D that enables users in sheet metal industries to develop optimal blank shapes or unfold flanges from complex geometries and to calculate material use and blank costs. The software uses finite-element analysis (FEA) methods to determine fully developed blank shapes for any type of sheet metal parts.

Collaboration: CL3VER App for iOS
With the CL3VER app, any interactive 3D presentation created with the CL3VER platform can be viewed on an iPad or iPhone. When a user attempts to view a CL3VER 3D presentation using an iOS device, the browser redirects to the Apple Store to download the app. Presentations can be stored for later viewing even without an Internet connection.

CAE: GRANTA MI:Materials Gateway for HyperMesh
Granta MI:Materials Gateway for HyperMesh is a materials information management system that enables users of the HyperMesh CAE preprocessor from Altair's HyperWorks suite to directly access and use validated CAE materials models from a GRANTA MI database. The tool launches from the HyperMesh window, connecting to corporate materials data managed in GRANTA MI or to Granta's catalog of materials reference information.
