Add CNET.com to Your Library of CAD Management Resources27 Feb, 2013 By: Robert Green
Get your non-CAD technology news, reviews, and software downloads from a trusted source.
Sometimes the little things help a lot, and CNET.com is one of those little things that makes a big difference in my ability to do my job.
Owned by CBS Interactive (which also owns CBSnew.com, ZDNet.com, and BNet.com), CNET.com is a free, membership-optional site that offers a broad spectrum of technology news, reviews, and industry happenings. Since CAD managers are often drawn into the tasks of hardware specifications, troubleshooting, finding utility software, and keeping up with industry news, CNET should be a key part of your arsenal.
Of course, CNET has a lot of information that you may not need, but better too much than too little! Over the years, I’ve found a lot of great software utilities via the CNET site Download.com, and now I find cool phone apps too. And for any non-CAD software you may be considering, the Reviews section is worth its weight in gold. I’ve also learned a lot about general networking and industry trends via the aggregated news feeds on CNET over the years.
CNET's reviews of non-CAD software can help steer you in the right direction.
When in doubt, if you’re doing a Google search on anything technology-related just put in CNET as one of your search terms; you’ll go directly to the right location in CNET’s extensive database of knowledge.
If you haven’t made CNET a central part of your educational library, you should. As we like to say at Cadalyst Labs, it's Highly Recommended!
