When Autodesk introduced the Home Page in Inventor 2015, it didn't fill some users' needs and many simply turned it off. This time around, Autodesk put a lot of work updating Home Page to help you keep your files organized and be more productive. Let's review the new design and its tools.
Right when you open the application, you can see there have been substantial updates.
Figure 1. The Inventor Home Page has been redesigned offering many more productivity tools.
Let's start with the New panel in the upper left hand corner. These of course are standard templates. If you have your own templates, copy them into this folder and replace the standard Autodesk templates. Make sure you maintain the same standard names. These are equivalent to the drop down menu beside New in the quick access toolbar. One thing to note, if your company uses Inventor IDW for your drawings, you cannot access that template from the New Drawing icon, it defaults to an Inventor DWG drawing. You must use another method, which we'll review in a minute.

You will notice a small gear in the upper right hand corner of this panel. Use this to replace all of the Standard Inventor templates with the configuration you select.
