Lenovo Workstations Heads to Madrid for EAGE 2015

Last week, the Lenovo Workstations team had the privilege of travelling to Madrid to exhibit at the 2015 EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers) Conference & Exposition, one of the largest oil & gas events in the world and second only to the SEG conference in North America. The EAGE conference is sponsored and well attended by some of the biggest oil & gas companies and ISV software partners in the world, making it the ideal showcase for our powerful workstation technology in this industry.

During the event, oil & gas companies were able to experience the latest Lenovo Workstations technology in our booth, including our powerful mobile and desktop workstations as well as our X86 server technology. These technologies were all the perfect platforms to showcase software from some of the biggest oil & gas ISVs, including Schlumberger, Paradigm, Halliburton and CGG, both in our own booth and in our partner booths, featuring demonstrable performance improvement using high-end GPUs. Without question, the star of the show from our perspective was the Lenovo ThinkStation P900 featuring three high-end NVIDIA GPUs, which dazzled the steady stream of visitors to the booth who were fortunate enough to glimpse its awesome performance.

Apart from this, EAGE provided an excellent opportunity to maintain our awareness and visibility as a top technology solution provider to the oil & gas industry. We had terrific conversations with many customers and consulting firms who work with these companies, all of which require the best-performing workstation hardware to power their ISV applications. These applications continue to push the envelope for visualization and performance, and our relationships with the ISVs developing them, ensures our workstations are able to handle the toughest workloads they can offer.

All in all, a terrific event for Lenovo Workstations in the oil & gas industry, and we look forward to continuing the momentum at the SEG event in New Orleans in October!
