BricsCAD V17.2 is Here: More Than A Dot Release

Performance + Usability + Workflows == BricsCAD V17.2!

BricsCAD V17.2 boosts display performance, adds new usability tools and comes with a powerful set of workflow-enhancing features – and best of all, it’s free of charge to V17 license owners!

We’ve improved REGEN speed and entity selection highlighting to increase BricsCAD’s responsiveness and added new customization capabilities to the innovative Quad cursor. And, there’s a bunch of new enhancements to help you get work done faster and more accurately. For more about this incredible (free) upgrade, read this post on the Bricsys blog.

V17.2 Brings New 3D Direct Modeling Tools

Are you using or making a move to 3D? BricsCAD V17.2’s Direct Modeling tools will change the way that you use 3D. Enhancements in push/pull modeling and design intent capture will ensure that your ideas are captured in a way that’s simple and shareable. Also, in V17.2 you’ll find a huge update to the automatic (generative) 2D drawing creation workflow. Finally, BricsCAD Platinum V17.2 enhances the creation of component assemblies, including partial updates and externally linked component parts. Intrigued? You can find out more about V17.2’s Direct Modeling features here.

BricsCAD BIM Makes Your Building Designs Crystal Clear

We’ve updated BricsCAD BIM to V17.2, and added a world of new functionality. 3D conceptual modeling leverages the new enhancements in V17.2’s Direct Modeling tools, and the BIMDRAG command quickly extends walls and slabs to target walls with automatic joins. Enhancements to fully-associative BIM Patches insures that you can add construction details to specific areas of your model without modeling every detail in 3D. If your model changes, BIM Patch will intelligently preserve any edits made to the detail. Also, advanced compliance with the IFC standard ensures that your BIM can move, intact, between multiple systems and across varied disciplines with full accuracy and integrity. This update to BricsCAD BIM is free of charge to current BricsCAD BIM V17 users – read here for more information on this powerful new update.

Sheet Metal for BricsCAD V17.2 Continues to Amaze Mechanical Designers

Now in its sixth release, Sheet Metal for BricsCAD V17.2 just gets better each release. It is a modern system that steps away from the conceptual limits of history-based sheet metal modelers. Sheet Metal for BricsCAD V17.2 automates the placement of 3D constraints, improves the use of junction features, improves the handling of hard edges and creates better OSM export files. Speaking of export (and import) – BricsCAD Communicator is also in V17.2 with support for the latest versions of many MCAD design systems. There’s more data here about Sheet Metal and Communicator V17.2.
