3D Systems Leverages Virtual Reality to Advance Surgical Training

ROCK HILL, South Carolina, January 26, 2017 – 3D Systems (NYSE:DDD) today announced pivotal advancements to its line of medical training simulators utilizing enhanced virtual reality (VR) environments. These new VR functionalities allow users to practice surgical procedures within a virtual operating room for a realistic and immersive training session designed to enable better surgical preparation and team training. 3D Systems’ Virtual Reality Operating Room (VR OR) includes environmental elements that are not typically present in other current simulation scenarios, but that exist in a real operating room, such as a virtual patient, OR team and OR equipment, in addition to realistic auditory diversions.
